Library Basics

Getting a library card
In person: Bring your license with your current address on it or a piece of mail with your new address on it (utility bill, tax bill from Township) to the front desk of the library. The only requirement is that you live in the state of Michigan.
Online: Click here to fill out a library card application online

Checkouts
You are allowed to checkout up to 15 items per card. Some of our items may have a shorter checkout period but most things go out for three weeks (with the option to renew once). You will not be able to renew items that are on hold for someone else.
You will not be able to checkout books for your spouse/other adult on their card unless they have given us permission to do so.

Holds
Hold can be placed on items that are current available or checked out. You will receive an email/text/phone call when the item you have requested is waiting for you at the front desk.

Fines
Fines are $0.05/day for books ... $1.00/day for board games and DVDs. If your card has more than a $2.00 fine on it, you must pay before you can check more items out.

My Library Account
You can access your library account here in order to see what you currently have out, what you have on hold, what fines you may owe, etc. Your first time using the system, you will be asked to set up a password. Simply follow the prompts and you will soon be on your way.

Where is the outside dropbox?
The outside dropbox is located in the wall beside five-minute/curbside parking (south side of the building). At the moment, we are asking that all items be placed in the outside dropboxes before entering the library to check out more items.
