In accordance with Executive Orders 2020-154, 2020-176, 2020-177,
this meeting will be conducted virtually.

Meeting called to order by Farrell 7:00pm via Zoom.
Members present: J. Colone, M. Evergreen, M. Farrell, R. Hocking, J. Katakowski.
Member absent P. Eibler.
Also present: H. Hentz and C. Weber.

Approval of

  1. Motion by Colone to approve the agenda as presented.  Seconded by Evergreen.  Motion carried.

  1. Motion by Colone to approve the Minutes from August 18, 2020 as presented. Seconded by Hocking.  Motion carried.

  1. Crystal Walter introduced herself to the rest of the board.

Financial

  1. 2019/2020 Audit Report was presented by Rana Emmons of Post, Smythe, Lutz & Zeil.  The library received an unmodified opinion.  Motion by Katakowski to accept the 2019-2020 Audit Report as presented.  Seconded by Hocking.  Motion carried.

  1. Motion by Hocking to accept the Financial Report for August 2020 as presented.  Seconded by Colone.  Motion carried.

Librarian's Report

  1. Monthly statistics: 30 average daily visits; 36 new patrons; 5,253 item check-outs; 914 Axis360 check-outs; 46 e-magazine check-outs; 118 e-audiobook check-outs; and 40 computer uses.
  2. Marketing update: Instagram at 180; Twitter at 408; Facebook at 1,149; 2,363 website uses; 1,190 wifi uses. 
  3. Other News: None.

  1. Motion made by Katakowski to either roll over the Chemical Bank CD in the amount of $104,019.99 into another CD or put the funds into a savings account, whichever offers the best rate.  Seconded by Evergreen.  Motion carried.

Relevant Board Issues

  1. Board supported the idea of seeking donations from anyone interested to purchase and plant a tree in memory of Genie Bowman.
  2. Board discussed how to honor members as their terms end.
